The Population History of the Korean Peninsula: Dental Evidence
The Population History of the Korean Peninsula: Dental Evidence
M.K. Pang and V.Yu. Bakholdina.
Metric and nonmetric dental traits in several ancient samples from the Korean Peninsula, housed at Busan State University, Yeungnam University, Chonnam University, Chungbuk University, Moscow University Museum of Anthopology, and the Laboratory of the Research Center “Baikal Region,” Irkutsk, are examined in order to test several hypotheses relating to the population history of Korea. The results support the idea that the genetic roots of the late Korean populations should be sought in the Lake Baikal area.
Keywords: Korean Peninsula, population history, dental anthropology.
