Китайская версия летописи была составлена членами специальной Комиссии при дворе правителей династии Юань и вышла в свет по указу последнего монгольского императора Тогон-Темура в конце 40-х годов XIV в., а ее маньчжурский вариант – через три столетия по указу маньчжурского императора Шунь-чжи.В первом томе описываются политические и военные события, связанные с деятельностью основателя династии Юань Чингис-хана и четырех последующих правителей из его рода – Угэдэя (Тай-цзуна), Гуюка (Дин-цзуна), Мункэ (Сянь-цзуна) и Хубилая (Ши-цзу). The Chinese version of «Yuan Shih» was compiled by members of special Committee at the court of rulers of the Mongolian Yuan Dynasty. and it appeared, according to the decree of the last Mongolian emperor Togon-Timour, in the late forties of the XIVth century A.D,. whereas the Manchurian version – three centuries later, according to the decree of the Manchurian emperor Shun-chzhi.The f rst volume of the off cial history of the Mongolian Yuan Dynasty contains description of political and military events connected with practical activities of Genghis Khan and four other subsequent rulers from his generation – Ughedey (Tai-tsung), Guyuk (Ding-tsung), Munke (Sian-tsung) and Hubilai (Shi-tsu).
